Skinner and McCormic victorious at Pueblo

As the teams came to the stage this afternoon, it was very evident that the fishing was much better than yesterday in the high winds. More than 20 teams brought their five fish limits to the scales. Not only were there more limits, larger fish were also caught.

DSC_3090 (Copy).JPGInterviewing the anglers it was apparent that many different techniques were used. Teams bottom bounced with crawlers, bottom bounced with leeches, jigged, and Lindy rigged. There was even one team that was casting crankbaits. A good number of teams commented how they had success with Gulp products.

As the weigh-in was near the end, it seemed that every succesive team was bouncing the previous team from first place. When all the teams had weighed in, the team of Don Skinner from Parker, CO and Curtis McCormick from Lewellen, NE were the champions of the Lake Pueblo MWC tournament.

Less than a half pound behind them was the team of Scott Busteed of Windsor, CO and David Harmon of Omaha, NE. Both teams were fishing the same area both days.

In 3rd place was Jim Perry and Aaron Wagner. 4th place went to day one leaders Scott Keley and David Pinney. 5th place belongs to David Kooser and Powers Cayce. For all the results go to liveleaderboard.com

The weather was not a major factor in today's fishing. Though the day started out cool, it quickly warmed. As the day progressed, the winds picked up but nowhere near yesterday's level. The rain held off until the presentation ceremonies but was very light.
