aaDSC_4459.JPGMWC Huron Day 1pm

Well, day one is complete and again, Lake Erie provided some amazing fish. As team after team came to the stage, big fish and heavy limits came with them. A total of 77 teams out of 79 weighed in 5 fish limits. There were 12 limits weighing over 40 pounds.

In first place after day one with a massive weight of 43.74 pounds is the team of Mark Lemke and John O'Reilly. Right behind them in second is the team of Darik Warnke and Ben Miller with 43.46 pounds. One hundredth of a pound out of second is the team of Rick Olson and Tom Wiehoff. A total of 392 fish were weighed in, weighing a total of 2623.11 pounds. All of the fish have been donated to local charities.

The big fish of the day weighed 12.05 pounds and was caught by Dan Hassevoort and Ken Clark. Second big fish, 11.68 pounds, was caught by first day leaders Mark Lemke and John O'Reilly. Rounding out the top three big fish is a 10.91 pound beauty caught by Darik Warnke and Ben Miller.

Getting any specific information from the teams was impossible today. They all know that it takes two consistent days to win this tournament. Even with a vow of silence, I was unable to pry any details as to where teams were fishing and what they were using. I'm sure that after tomorrow's weigh in, details will come freely.

Tomorrow's weather is supposed to be very similar to today. Light winds from the east, sunny and warm.

Take off will again begin at 7:00am and teams will begin weigh in at 4:00pm. All activities are at the Huron Launch.
